Pros

Pay was ok but for what we were doing should have been about $5.00 more an hour! Time off was not a problem.. Learned a lot of new business practices and gained more experience..

Cons

Junior management was clueless to say the least!! A lot of promises were broken! Mass layoff's in the first year!! Company is owned by a private equities firm (MARLIN) who wass only concerned about making money!! We did our managers job because they did not know how! Pay freeze!! No company matching 401(k) or pension! The company's new ERP (SOLARSOFT) is owned by MARLIN (go figure) but they sold it Burroughs for profit!! HMMM??? all but a handful of the manufacturing jobs are now in China & Brazil!! WHich is y they laid us off!! Run for the hills if u r offered a job at this place!! There is no loyalty or room for advancement!!

Pros

Because so few engineers are left, there is never a lack of work for engineers. Fellow engineers are great to work with and some of the best around. You are exposed to the latest technology in mechanical, electrical and firmware engineering. The products are best in class.

Cons

The business of processing checks is fading. I hardly use checks anymore and do most of my bill paying online or use credit cards with cash-back bonuses. How about you? Banks do not buy big hardware anymore. Check processing is decentralized to the teller counter using low-margin desktop scanners. Some of the best and brightest engineers have been let go, while keeping ineffective management.
