Pros

Nice people, very informative, lots of free food, interesting atmosphere....and that is really it

Cons

As an analyst you wouldn't think that you would need to be Iowa health and life licensed, but they require that for everyone. Hours are not flexible when you go through training and it's powerpoint hell with next to no physical hands on training. Everyone goes through the exact training program which is filled with endless powerpoints. Powerpoints are not a learning tool, lets get this straight. Not everyone is going to be super happy and excited to at work everyday but they want you to appear that way. Open air training area with no privacy, they keep an eye on you like a hawk and treat you like a kid that just graduated college, that has never experienced the business world. Expect training to last more than 2 months, because they can't feed you enough powerpoints. If you decided to take the positive reviews over the negative reviews, just be warned that the people that actually fit in there and enjoy being a cheerleader are the ones writing those reviews. If you like your own privacy and would rather learn hands on be mindful of the negative reviews.

Pros

BusinesSolver is an incredibly unique culture. They're driven by making the connection to the customers they serve their A1 priority. But they do it in a way which says "We're moving toward the next greatest thing." They value talent and drive above history and base skillset. It results in an incredible balance of people and life.

Cons

The interview process is very 'Kitchen Table'. They're striving to retain the culture while reaching the new level of employees necessary to move into their next phase. This resulted in several phone calls, a prep interview, and a several hour in person interview with the full crew. Not excessive, but seemingly unmaintainable in the coming months of growth. Still, it allowed me to shine above the others present. And increased my investment in the job to come. But in all fairness, if an Agile team, focusing on maintaining forward thinking is not worth such a process, then you're not looking at the right company.

Perfect fit for me - but definitely not for everyone

Pros

I read the reviews here and get genuinely upset, because I have never been happier at a job than I am at Businessolver. I'm approaching my two year anniversary and have no plans of going anywhere. It's really amazing what a culture of people who actually care about their work will do. Yes, you're expected to work hard - there's no "flying under the radar" here. Yes, there are absolutely days you'll work long hours. Yes, I'm sure the level of employee happiness (and management competence) varies by department. But this is definitely a workplace where I feel like my hard work--going above and beyond daily-- are not only recognized, but rewarded as well.. which I've never had at any of my previous employers. Overall, if I were an outsider looking in and saw many of these Glassdoor reviews, I'd be turned off - so I felt like I needed to write a review from a NON-disgruntled former employee as most of these seem to be. I'm not in management, I have no direct reports, I work hard here every day, and I have a spouse and kids at home... and I love it. And the majority of employees I work with day-to-day love it too. It just feels like it's mostly disgrunted ones that review here!

Cons

Benefits are decent, but the PTO isn't awesome (thankfully I've found that now that I love my job, I need less PTO to be happy - but I did lose several weeks of PTO/year coming to BSC, which was scary). Also, the interview process seems to have become totally excessive over the last two years. It was crazy before, but lately when friends ask me about jobs here, I basically say "I love working here, but I'm not even sure if you should start the interview process because it will take MONTHS and you'll have to leave your current job for interviews at least 8 times." I understand that they do it to make sure we bring the right people in - but it's become way over the top now.
