Pros
The people that we are helping around the world is the best part. When you hear the stories of those that had very little, making a better life for themselves and their family is so awesome. The benefits and flexibility are pretty good. Work/Life balance is great, but depends on the department.
Cons
Management is awful! Like seriously, really bad. The majority of management have really bad people skills. There are a string of lazy hiring/promotions that run rampant. There is an environment of favoritism and nepotism, which fosters low staff morale and huge turnover. There are no real processes or procedures, which allows for management to do what they want. No one holds them accountable. Teams are stretched thin and there is quietly layoffs going on, with no message coming from leadership, which leads to staff walking around on pins and needles. Meanwhile, hiring of upper staff continues, when the organization is seemingly struggling financially. The lack of diversity is disheartening. There are tons of really "BIG" ideas with no ability to actually implement them. This use to be a really great place to work. Those days are long gone. Many of us are waiting for the bottom to fall out.
