Pros

Easy hire as the company has a hard time retaining and attracting talent. If you are desperate for a job, make sure to negotiate a good base salary as the benefits and bonuses are diminishing.

Cons

Don’t be fooled by the “featured review”! CDK is as dreadful as the majority of current and past employees have posted. Very few employees have been terminated for cause. Either their positions were offshored, or eliminated to save money. Those that have stayed are overworked, under paid and underappreciated, hence the toxicity. Ask your recruiter or HR to provide you with a copy of the employee survey, or at least how employees responded to the question “Would you recommend CDK to a friend”? (Oh, make sure the version has been independently verified by a 3rd party). You might also ask what their employee attrition rate. (Again, make sure it’s been independently verified by a 3rd party)

Pros

Convenient office location. Can't think of anything else...

Cons

They outsource everything to India. US employees have to do mostly support. Late nights or early mornings calls with Indian colleagues few times a week is a usual thing here. As an employee in Seattle, I had my line manager in India whom I've never seen. This is ridiculous! On my project employees in the US were supposed to participate in on-call support rotation which included weekends and this wasn't paid. Management doesn't care about product quality. Most of the employees are demotivated and hate working there. Too many layoffs, it's not secure to stay there. Awful health insurance and benefits in general. Combine this with pay which is way below the market. There are many more issues in this company, it will take too much time to describe them all. My advice is to avoid this company and find something better. Fortunately, there are many great companies in Seattle. Good luck!

Pros

None. My position was one of the few available at this company that allowed remote work. It was not a perk. Communication between teams or even members on my own team was nearly non-existent. If you weren't in the office you weren't in the club.

Cons

Where to start? This company had great benefits and culture under ADP. ADP cared about retaining its talent and treating them like they were valuable. When CDK split from ADP, we began focusing on attracting a new buyer rather than working in the car dealership business. Benefits went up significantly or were stripped away altogether. Internal websites are horrible and difficult to navigate; they look like a kid created them. The performance review process is awkward and again, done on a cumbersome online section of our internal website. Job processes are mind-numbingly boring because automation is non-exsistent. There was no ownership of process improvement and 90% of my "technical" job was filling out paperwork, emailing it manually and then uploading it. Rinse and repeat. Breaking down silos? This company is one giant silo city. Management has zero investment in employee relations or retaining their their talent. Paycheck...what paycheck? Left this company and got a 30% raise to go elsewhere after 15 years of being told "you're average." Right...and the monkey pushes the button. There is no career growth and if you want to work in tech this place pigeon holes you into roles that are difficult to translate to "the real world." I honestly feel like I just got out of an abusive relationship and found out that not all companies treat their people this way, that's how bad this place is. I wasted years of my life on a "career" that doesn't exist. Keep looking if you're considering a job here. If you still work here, you CAN get out. The grass IS greener elsewhere.
