Pros

I enjoyed my customers.... Nothing to do with the company....

Cons

I find it absolutely amazing that anyone could be proud or would continue to work for this company if you're any good at sales and I do mean Sales; you remember, hunting.... Having been gone 2 1/2yrs and making twice the amount of money I used to make at CORT as a top performer who made President's Club. I understand the "Old Boys Club" is still in tact; good for them but not for the future of the company. Although, one or two of the horrible managers I worked for are gone, I understand they continue to run things as they always have. You know the way; smile and keep your mouth shut.... Whatever you do, don't stand up for anything you believe in. Never express good sound feedback, they really don't want to hear it. I have always walked away from a company and have taken something possible with me. The only positive thing I took away from CORT was friendships I made with people I used to network with. These were the same people who helped me get to club. If you live in California, the economy is just too good here to even consider lowering yourself to work for a company that will never value you. Trust me, you can do a lot better elsewhere.

Focus is Operations, Not Growth

Pros

Great products, little competition, excellent benefits, excellent reputation. Awesome place to work and build a career if you are in an operations role.

Cons

Little emphasis on growing business. Mostly focused on operations part of business with little idea of how sales organization should be managed. Sales people tolerated, not valued. Operations and sales groups focused on managing data rather than generating revenue. More than half of employee time devoted to reviewing activity as an excuse for actual work. VERY top heavy in management so administrative tasks are created to give managers (VPs) something to do.

Pros

Good place to network and meet a lot of people

Cons

No real professional oversight from headquarters- each district operates independently with local manager having total autonomy.
