Pros

+Lots of website resources. The company is pretty well developed and has all their online content working the way it should. +Mailed work materials so you don't have to purchase anything extra. That includes tablet, carrying case, scanner, name tag, and any related supplies. +The pay wasn't too bad. About $12/hour. +Driving reimbursement is fair. It will more than cover gas costs and it varies according to current gas prices. +Very flexible scheduling.

Cons

-I was hired as the General Mills retail rep. After reading the job description and being interviewed , I had a different picture in my head of what I would be doing. I thought that I would be going to different market chains like Publix, Walmart, Target, and some gas stations to audit for product inventory. Then recommend to the manager what they should also include in their line-up. Well that wasn't really the case. Imagine the crappiest little convenience store down your street or highway, maybe it's called something like Quik-Stop, Food Mart or whatever. The outside might look just as crummy as the inside with a cracked parking lot, some odd people hanging around there, product is thrown on the shelves, lights might not be working, and so on. Like it's the last place you would go in for a snack. But you have to go in there because it's now part of the job. You're in there in business attire with a tablet. So not only are you in the most common place to get robbed all day, but you also have something worth getting robbed if that were to happen. These are the places I have to go to in addition to typical gas stations... 200+ times a month. Talk about a quickly repetitive job. 20 minutes is the expected time in each place, but you have to schedule like 10 a day to finish them all in time. The hours per week are about 20-25 since the deadline for these are usually about a month. And guess what happens once you complete all your visits? You do it all again next month. Imagine going to these places all the time and trying to talk to managers who usually don't care what you want them to order for their shelves; and it's like 90 degrees outside so as you're traveling from gas station to convenience store, you're sweating your butt off when the job has barely started. -The range for the stores can also span several cities away, making for a 1 hour drive to the farthest place just to audit for some snacks. -The tablet they give you is the worst piece of technology I have ever used. It literally takes more than 12 hours to fully charge the battery. Mine was at about 50% and when I left it to charge overnight, it was about 70% the next morning. I know it's not defective because my manager's was exactly like that too. My advice to someone who is looking for a job here is, careful which position you sign up for. Make sure you know exactly what you're going to do before you tell them yes. I know Crossmark has some decent positions. I just happened to pick the wrong one. I can't work every day feeling like I'm about to get mugged.

Where's my Paycheck?

Pros

My supervisor is great. She cares about the fact that I have a life and some limitations and tries to help me to overcome those limitations, so I can earn my pay easily.

Cons

Communication is non-existent when Crossmark loses a contract and the employee is forced to make choices that take them out of the game. Crossmark CLAIMS to have mailed my final paycheck some 3 weeks ago, and I have yet to receive it. This has caused me extreme hardship, as I live in Maine, it is getting cold here, and I need that money to purchase oil for my home and groceries to feed my children. This was a low blow for employees who were left with no choice if they wanted to remain with their team. This HURTS.

Pros

Set your own hours. Weekly paycheck.

Cons

This job was fine until the company switched to the Axis platform. Hours went from 20+ down to 5 hours per week (or less), local stores taken away, was "assigned" stores 20 miles or more away. The new system was not ready to be implemented and the effect on reps was severe. Reps in my division left because hours were cut with no notice. Management offered me stores even FURTHER away when I spoke to them about it. Mileage reimbursement is no where close to national standards. Employees are apparently disposable. Communication inconsistent - either it was micro-management or no response. Emails from supervisor were often in a demeaning tone, very unprofessional. Very little encouragement or support from supervisor during changeover to new system.
