Pros

High pay and benefits, diverse health care packages to select from

Cons

1. The company has a toxic blame culture and lacks strategic leadership. Senior leadership in meetings are looking for someone to blame and won't stop until they get a name. Company does not care to learn from mistakes and do better rather than blaming someone. 2. Teams will constantly be shifting ownership and when you pick up new work, there is no foundational knowledge. You will be constantly spending your time trying to figure out where the information lives as no one documents anything and former team members have left. 3. No support from leaders (will not meet with you, takes long time to respond and doesn't attend meetings where they are needed). Never feels like your items are a priority to them. 4. Release cycles are terrible, extremely disorganized and features are constantly breaking due to other teams breaking stuff within your ownership.

Pros

- Autonomy when working from home (which is also a con when dealing with low performance coworkers) -

Cons

- Management has no real strategy or vision for the future to make the product better. It's a reactionary driven way of operating. - Constant 'restructurings' and layoffs (every 1-2 years) in attempts fix their management incomptencies - Flat org structure. Literally no engineer thought it was a good management platform, everyone hated it, upper management refused to change it. - No development managers means developers have to take on additional roles and deal with information overload. - Extremely limited opportunity for advancement in terms of promotions or career advancement. You're basically stuck at your level or maybe 1-2 levels above that for your tenure. - No big business value adding projects/initiatives to work on

Extensive Politics

Pros

If you want to learn to become narcissist, it is a great place as you will find plenty of them and you can learn to become like them.

Cons

On one hand they ask you to find solution to challenging status quo, but reality is they want you to follow their status quo. It is toxic workplace with cut throat competition where most Caucasian male is trying to stab behind your back to establish their power play. It is place where there is extensive politics and you must follow the rules of white club in order to move the ladder.
