There is no work-life balance. At least at the start expect to work (in almost any department other than HR) every holiday and mostly weekends as it is the busiest time. It does not matter if your child is sick, you yourself are graduating college, you were in a car accident on the way to work or it's just sunny out and you don't want to come to work. They are so worried about being fair and equal that they are everything but considerate. You accumulate points towards getting fired at DOUBLE the regular daily rate if you are scheduled to work and do not show up but you do not get any extra pay - just your regular hourly wage. You also can only lose those points by time passing. If asked to stay over and you do, you can expect a thank you and a miniscule amount of reward credits. (See pros for explanation of reward credits) If you volunteer for overtime on a day they feel they need extra people you also do not get points removed. It's very one sided. Double trouble for high business days but no extra rewards. If you are in table games department you even have more days than other departments to which these rules apply. The customers satisfaction is valued way over the employees needs, feelings, or legitimate complaints. If you cross a person who plays more money in 15 minutes than you make in 5 years you can assume that anything they feel will be taken as fact even if security tape could back you up as correct. If however you are accused of anything even minor and are asked to sign an acknowledgement, you will not be able to have the security tape as your defense as they will not show it to you. Yes, they have been acknowledged as a Best Place to Work in Indiana but if you go to the website you'll find not all companies are considered, only those who are nominated or nominate themselves, and those companies willing to PAY to be evaluated for the title.
