Good amount of holidays/days off.

Cons

If you are the same ethnicity as your supervisor/manager, then you can get away with ANYTHING (surf the web/Amazon/ESPN all day). Provider offices and other departments can document how rude you are and difficult to work with, and if you are the same ethnicity, you get away with it. The department I am currently in has had 100% turnover in the span of two years, and CalOptima has done nothing about the supervisor/manager/director. On the other hand, some departments haven't had a job opening in over 3 years because their supervisor/manager/director are awesome! Still, I would not recommend CalOptima.

The environment is like a family. Dysfunctional, but still family.

Cons

Some management here do not know how to do anything and it is very sad and upsetting how they can not be let go thus the reason why I decided to leave.

Great benefits, great mission/work for the members the company is serving.

Cons

Low pay and slow progression for promotional increases. Constant turnover from the C level down to all levels of management, LOTS of politics, and feel far removed from the mission.
