As a proud employee of California Bank & Trust for many years, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing a career filled with growth, opportunity, and meaningful relationships. From entry level roles to management positions, the organization has consistently supported my professional development and empowered me to evolve within the company. What I appreciate most is the stability and integrity of CB&T. In an industry that often faces volatility, CB&T has remained a steady and reliable employer. The leadership fosters a culture of trust and collaboration, and I’ve always felt that my contributions were valued. The bank’s commitment to its employees and clients alike is evident in its long-standing reputation and community presence.

Cons

That said, there are areas where the organization could improve. The pace of technological advancement and change management tends to be slower than ideal. In a rapidly evolving financial landscape, staying ahead of innovation is crucial not only for operational efficiency but also for enhancing the client experience. Despite these challenges, I remain deeply loyal to CB&T. The people, the culture, and the opportunities I’ve been given over nearly three decades make this more than just a workplace it’s a professional home. Great organization with deep roots in banking makes it feel safer and more stable than other FI's. Great network of help from departments and access to procedures to ensure regulations are being adhered to. Provides a great customer and employee experience.

Cons

Challenges from previous acquisitions to ensure that all employees adhere to the CBT way. Customers are still coming accustomed to the CBT way verses previous allowances of the acquired bank.

They consistently demonstrate integrity and stay true to the organization’s culture and values. I’ve seen firsthand how leadership drives positive change even in challenging environments. Their focus on operational excellence and culture transformation has produced measurable results, and they never lose sight of the mission: Creating California's Best Banking Relationships. They encourage development opportunities, provide clear communication, and make sure employees have the tools and training to perform at a high level. The environment is collaborative. Leaders listen, act on feedback, and create space for innovation while balancing risk and customer experience. It’s clear they care about careers, and that makes a big difference. If you’re looking for a place where leadership leads by example and invests in people, CB&T is that place.

Cons

Large, matrixed organization means extra approvals and documentation; simple changes can take longer than they should. Risk/compliance requirements are necessary but can feel heavy at times, adding steps that don’t always improve the customer experience.
