      They’ll Reel You In…

      Pros

      Work from anywhere culture paired with enticing benefits makes for a job offer that’s hard to resist. You’ll probably look at Glassdoor and go “wow! Super high rating and everyone loves them, I’m definitely taking this job!”

      Cons

      Oh how wrong you’d be. Calix is well known for their revolving door of new hires and “layoffs” to the point where it can appear as if their HR staff exists purely to hire and fire. People you just met seem to disappear with no explanation. There’s always shuffling of people, titles, and priorities to hide behind when in reality, the company lacks stability at its core. If you are not part of the rah rah culture that is obsessed with LinkedIn or willing to flatter management regardless of the quality of their work or ideas, you’ll quickly be out of the clique. Everything is just perfect at Calix, don’t you know? Pointing out anything to the contrary is not allowed. Beware the reviews - management pushes HARD for their employees to leave positive reviews with multiple reminders and messaging that not so subtly sways those with concerns to stay quiet.

      Crazy leadership with inflated egos

      Benefits are pretty robust comparatively

      Politics and inflated egos abound -all levels of management. Very chaotic , business partners that don’t own mistakes and will rewrite history to cover their behind

We have not raised our medical benefit costs for employees in the last 5 years! We have made it through our Company's transformation and are grateful we can now focus on the opportunity in front us.       depressing working environment

      The pay is competitive in market.

      Cons

      It's unfair and awful working environment. A lot of politics. People don't do their work and are not accountable for that. Most of key positions are taken by people not having the compatible technical skills and not even having any ethics. The reason those people are there in those positions are simply because they could stay in this place no matter what. A lot of turnover because of that.

      It's definitely hard to read comments that our work environment is felt to be unfair and awful. Although, we so value you being transparent and upfront of what is really top of mind as one of our own. We greatly appreciate the advice to keep the big picture and blue ocean in front of us.
