Pros

The employees are lovely, solid hard working people, that are sharp and collaborative. Being part of a legacy that Ely built is cause for genuine affection by tenured employees. The discount on some of the finest golf equipment in the world is solid. The cafe' is a great onsite perk. Parking is relatively plentiful (and covered).

Cons

There is a lack of support from senior level management, Human Resources will always side with management, employee concerns are ultimately swept aside. Mediocrity is acceptable, resulting in poorly qualified people in certain management positions, unfit to manage and/or lead the staff for whom they are responsible. Growth opportunities are rare within the service organizations; what you get hired in as will most likely be where you'll remain. Callaway will never be a $1Bn company (again); capital budgets are always a struggle and a cat fight. Many former Taylor Made employees have been brought over to Callaway, Ely is rolling over in his grave... there's a boys club mentality there. Attrition is a business practice resulting in many many over-worked employees. Long ago, corporate loyalty was rewarded... the key word being long ago. Bonuses are political, as can be merit increases; hold your tongue.

Pros

Loved working at Callaway. They make the best products and have awesome employees.

Cons

I did not receive any support from HR or Chip when my boss retired and the new CFO arrived and laid me off because we weren't "a good fit". After 19 years I would have thought that they could have offered me something in another department.

Pros

People were nice, great benefits.

Cons

Will work heavy hours with no pay incentive, this will be skimmed over during the interview process. I advise to ask directly what the full expectation of hours for you to work are, as HR will lie to you.
