Pros

-Only have to work 14 days out of the month but still make FT pay and health insurance. -Depending on where you work, the job can be easy (working a position where all you need to do is keep an eye on machinery and clean is great, working in a position where you have to shovel rocks for 12 hours a shift is unpleasant). -Some supervisors/managers are very competent and know how to run things efficiently while keeping everyone happy and safe. -Company is growing quickly, and they are ALWAYS shorthanded; it is very hard to not get hired. -As long as you take responsibility for your own safety, you should be safe.

Cons

-Be prepared to be exposed to drug talk and/or actual use. -Production is prioritized over safety. I witnessed machinery giving off clouds of silica dust near a high traffic area (testing confirmed levels were 2x the legal limit) but it wasn't addressed for months nor did anyone enforce wearing respirators when in the area. Also worked with safety barriers that had been tampered with so the doors could be opened without shutting down the machinery. -Speaking of safety, they claim to have something like 2500+ days without a "lost time incident." If you are injured in any way they will simply switch your schedule around so you are never technically missing any work. One employee received a chemical burn severe enough that the hospital sent him to the burn unit in St. Paul; they didn't call an ambulance but instead had his coworker drive him to the ER. As long as they keep that number, they get cheaper insurance, so good luck getting a fair play if you're injured.

Thank you for your review. Our employees’ health and safety is our highest priority. Safety is the responsibility of every employee. As detailed in our process, if employees see something that concerns them, halt work and notify your supervisor or manager immediately. This is the same process we have for any employee regarding substance abuse. Anytime there is an injury, we strive to get an employee back to work so there is no impact on their life financially. We want the process to be as seamless as possible and to get them the best care we can.

Pros

The product is great. They are the best I believe, they have very high standards. Very good marketing of product. They seem to be everywhere and now are showing up on TV commercials. I don’t see anyone else doing that in the market. The tools to show the product in a home and also tools to help match slabs. These are tools that do set them apart. Providing the best to customers.

Cons

The new administration pushing ideals that were best practices for very big organizations. This also brought in big org. management techniques to a small/medium size company. This is not going well today. Which was the reason why most of the people in IT have moved on. Fostering new people can be a challenge, but you need to toss the bad apples. This is not happening. If someone is making waves and also doesn’t know IT very well. This causes problems for people that do. The cancers need to be cut away so the team can move on. Hire people that get IT. Literally. The core values that the IT dept. have accepted can be good to everyone else to see in the company. But has backfired within the department. Assuming positive intent can not go so well to the person that also made a commitment and was trying to keep it. Better together means not meeting deadlines that were set in place from management. They made a commitment and didn’t check with the team first. To sum it up in one phrase. “The cart is always in front of the horse here.” Believe me. That I can tell you.

Pros

Double pay on Sundays. That adds about 300 dollars to your paycheck. Also you only work sixteen days a month. Very recently they increased starting pay.

Cons

Again mass Chaos. They have been making slabs for almost 20 years and they run that plant and the company like they opened the doors yesterday.

Thank you for your review and acknowledgment of our flexible scheduling arrangements and competitive compensation packages. We are disappointed to hear you experienced organizational frustrations during your time with us. As a growing company with continual innovation, there is a learning curve as we develop new processes and procedures, yet our aim is to keep that as streamlined as possible while still remaining flexible. We care deeply about both our employees and the company and expect that from our staff at every level. We are in communication with our managers at the processing facility to ensure we are meeting the mark both in word and action with all of our teams. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.
