Pros
My campus as a whole is full of great people. A tight-knit community of people - some have worked there for decades, they were born there, their children were born there, they are from that city, etc. Compared to the rest of the organization this campus works amazing together, coming together in times of crisis.
Cons
That same tight-knit community can have its downsides. Everyone knows your business. Gossip, rumors. The people you think you can trust are the ones stabbing you in the back. Layoffs, no raises/tiniest percentage raise. Unfair benefits - nothing is uniform across campuses even though it's one company. Only some people have to pay for parking, but not others. Morale is low. People are set in their ways and adverse to change to the point that they are actually defiant. Positions are being cut, but not refilled- the work is just being piled on to someone else without compensation, or even appreciation. Why I decided to leave: I started to feel nauseous on Sundays at the thought of going to work. I could no longer think of one thing I enjoyed about my workdays. People were just miserable around me and I felt it rubbing off on me. Where I once felt valued by my manager, I was now being made to feel useless even though I was now doing a completely different job than the one I was hired to do, even though I was doing the jobs of those who were let go on top of my own. I had no doubt it was time to go.
