Pros

-Great opportunity to try your hands at many things (Oracle, .NET, SqlServer, Java, Sharepoint, Biztalk, Guidewire, AgencyPort. You name it you got it. -First few months are honeymoon period.

Cons

-Management will put you in all programs to make you Jack of All Trades. Master of None. -That is when you will start realizing that this is not worth for the below average salary you get paid. -too much work off hours and weekend. Huge deployments every 2 weeks. -You get "voluntold" to be part of a deployment that you have no idea of. -You get moved to a new team and new manager every 3-6 months. -Managers make use of the resource as personal assistant -You have to make your manager "Happy" else you don't get any salary hike and will give you hard time. -Newly hired college graduates have better chances of getting good salary and positions as long as you 'please' your manager. -Experience people better stay away as they need only 'worker bees' without brains -Business people continuously fighting with IT.

Pros

On the job learning opportunities and free snacks

Cons

HIGH turnover. No clear training for new hires to demonstrate software used by the company and too much micro-management. Although this is a salaried position, employees are still requested to fill out timecards. Employees are not encouraged to work remotely
