Pros

Making a difference in kids lives

Cons

Leadership deceives new hires, luring them in with promises of advancement and earning potential, but will only give the minimum 0.50 raise. No cleaning procedures in place and you will get sick every other week from the amount of germs floating around the facility. They expect you to prepare for your sessions by coming in early but do not operate on a time clock. You will only get paid for your sessions regardless of if you come in early or stay late to clean or prepare learning materials. You will be screamed at, hit, bitten, kicked, hair pulled with little to no support.

Pros

Rewarding job, free paid training, work one-on-one with clients

Cons

Competitions with other employees, lack of reinforcement toward employees, poor insurance, lack of resources to perform job effectively, management is two-faced, management takes advantage of those with more experience which leads to increased burnout, company only cares about numbers

Pros

My clinic director is the BEST boss I’m ever going to have. She is kind, tactful, respectful, caring, and supportive. My direct supervisor (a BCBA) is also wonderful. I work with a fantastic group of BTs who care deeply about the work, which is highly rewarding.

Cons

BTs and seniors make very little money considering the work that’s asked of them. No sick days. PTO accrual is abysmal (BTs are expected to work 51/52 weeks in a year). Work/life balance, especially for clinicians (seniors and BCBAs) is lacking. For example, families have our personal phone numbers and can contact us at all times. The company is increasingly shifting away from the kids being priority to the money being priority, to the point at which certain aspects of therapy (like supervision) are being overlooked intentionally.
