Pros

A good example of how ABA should not be working

Cons

Hostile work environment, BCBAs choose favorites, poor management, values trial count over quality of services, any behavioral problems blamed on BTs, BCBAs shut down BT's ideas or take credit for them as their own, not guaranteed hours promised, over worked and under paid, does not properly follow Covid protocols, zero work life balance, no proper breaks, high turnover rate

Pros

Fun & Engaging work. Team of clinicians are supportive and collaborative. Caseloads are more localized, so travel time is less.

Cons

Difficult to achieve incentive goals. The company has rapidly grown, acquiring multiple other companies, which has resulted in a stronger focus on making money and a significant decrease in quality of services. Heavy focus on billable hours. Staff are burnt out and overwhelmed. The health insurance is also very expensive.

Pros

Working in-clinic is fun at times. And a lot of the kiddos and families are a joy to work with.

Cons

You find out your schedule the night before, and caseloads are merely a suggestion, so it's hard to get your footing. Compensation is low when compared to other clinics in the area, and only a 50 cent raise after passing the RBT exam. However, my biggest issue is with the amount of trials they expect you to run with the clients. 50 per hour is near unachievable, and in my opinion, bordering on unethical. Having such a high amount looming overhead (that they do track and bring up during reviews) incentivizes staff to push the client harder than what they may not be up to, and creates an environment where data is faked in order to meet the quota. That is not sustainable and I feel is a detriment to successful treatment. However, it is pushed by all the seniors and BCBAs.
