Pros

Flexible schedule, clinic director I work under is amazing, opportunities for advancement frequently, and seeing the kids make progress is very rewarding

Cons

No work/life balance due to giving out your phone number to all families so they can contact you 24/7 and they will. Telling BT's that PTO is a privilege and not something that should be "given" and they are only given 1 week per year. They continue to increase the demands they put on their clinicians with no increased compensation. However, their increased demands make the company more money. There are no sick days offered though it is a field revolving around CHILDREN who are germ monsters.

Pros

Someone the local leadership staff care so much while being treated horribly by executive management.

Cons

Company cares about profits ONLY. They are trying to grow so fast they neglect the clinics they already have open. Intern and BT staff are paid abysmally low and turnover rate is high. Executive management continuously make demands of local leadership to the point the director is doing their own job, the job of a BCBA, AND the job of BTs. The same is true for some of the BCBAs, though most of the staff either doesn't care or are incompetent. If the local management can't complete their work in house (because they are doing the BTs work on top of their own) they are expected to work nights and weekends to make up the difference while providing no solutions to hold the incompetent employees accountable. Some employees are drug through the mud despite trying, while others are coddled and babies despite their inability to perform their basic functions.

Pros

You get to make a difference in the lives of children on the spectrum and gain experience working with those with special needs.

Cons

Pay is absolutely abysmal. Find another company that pays their employees a living wage if you want experience as a behavior technician. It shouldn’t be hard as this company pays the least out of all the ABA companies in my area. I wasted too much time at this company making as much as a McDonalds employee ($16/hr) with 20 times the stress, 20 times the responsibilities, and a fraction of the hours. Employee turnover is through the roof because of the working conditions of this company- and the kids getting hurt the most from it without consistent and reliable BT’s giving them care. Wage compression is a real problem here; you could be an employee working at the company for years and a new hire can come in and get paid more than you with the same or less experience.
