Too many VPs

Pros

Great team who really supports one another, enjoy supporting clinics and members

Cons

Toxic senior/executive management level where there are way too many VPs and SVPs, which exploded in the last couple of years, not surprisingly within a year of more than doubling senior management who gets 3x the salary and 15% bonus on their inflated salaries, we are in a financial crisis. Eliminate 150-200 positions but none are at the VP level is a mistake. And it’s all about favoritism and games. People were cut this last round based on VPs picking favorites, which has led to hurt feelings and feeling unsafe.

Pros

No cost to commute work from home.

Cons

Any customer service positions here are highly micromanaged and monitored. You don't learn this till the last day of training that they watch you remotely real time and listen to calls constantly. Insufficient training giving you cliff notes for the job. High call volumes from rude pushy 3rd party calls non stop. I literally had moments I couldn't even breathe between calls because you have 2 minutes to fully wrap up make notes about the call and get back into available mode when on one call you could be assisting a provider with up to 3 different issues meaning 3 different notes. Working from home they have your time micromanaged to the point that you get 6 minutes a day to use the bathroom or take a break outside break times. I had more freedom to use the bathroom working full time on site or take a breather as needed. Time away from being available on the phones dings your metrics. You become a score not a person. Stingy with time off requests even for doctor appointments. False expectations for the job given until end of training in which they consistently lose at least half of all the training groups upon disclosure of how things really work. The company boasts equity and for members they are great but for employees if you are in any entry level role it is a miserable experience.

Full of dread

Pros

Excellent training program, flexibility, work from home, paid Trimet pass. PTO is decent. Competitive pay. Some departments seemed friendly and fun.

Cons

Intradepartmental dynamics made work a dreadful experience. Personal vendettas got in the way of collaboration; expectations were unclear and extremely inconsistent. The departments are very siloed- some by choice, some by design, causing duplicative work and disorganization. Managers are not held accountable for not doing their jobs or for unprofessional behavior; many do not bother replying to email. The health insurance premiums are high.
