Pros

The work this company puts I for the community is unmatched, especially in Dayton. Opportunities are unlimited if you are living in Dayton, Ohio.

Cons

Company focuses on growth in Dayton. Other sites are considered not a priority. All operational work is done mostly in Dayton. CareSource is the number 1 MCE in Dayton, but number 4 in Indianapolis. The Indiana business can’t afford mistakes of work bring completed by staff in Dayton, that does not understand our health plans.

We're so sorry you don't feel your work is a priority. We want all our locations to feel empowered to change lives in their local community. From management roadshows to local awards, we work hard to lift up the efforts of those "boots on the ground." Thank you for letting us know we still have work to do.

Growing too fast

Pros

Coworkers are great, annual bonus is nice, some jobs allow you to work from home.

Cons

Company is shifting focus to social work more than medical needs of members, workload went from busy to impossible in a few months due to desire to increase membership. There have been so many changes in procedures with very poor training, extremely poor communication, and management seems to be ignoring the chaos.

Growing too fast

Pros

Nice building, great people to work with, decent benefits, onsite cafeteria has healthy options. You will never be bored because there is so much work to do. Too much work in fact..

Cons

The location of HQ in Dayton is awful. The cafeteria is extremely expensive! Management does not seem truly interested in the well being of their employees even though they preach it. Senior leaders can be abrasive and confrontational. The pay is considerably lower than the industry norm. While the company is growing very rapidly, there are very little growth opportunities for the dedicated employees who made the company. It seems like most senior level positions are filled from the outside. The infrastructure is not in place to handle the growth. Impossible to find a conference room and absolutely no privacy to make or receive a personal call. The workload is ridiculous and employees are asked to do jobs outside of their job description, and then get criticized when things don't go perfectly. Department direction changes frequently. Management takes on too much without understanding the impacts to its employees. CareSource used to be a good company to work for when it focused on its mission to serve the underserved. I believe it lost sight of its core mission and is now more interested in growth.
