Pros

You can recieve benefits only working part time, 20hrs is the minimum requirement to get enrolled in benefits. Often the shifts are very pretty flexible and you'll be able to get the hours that you've requested. Relativly straight forward job as what's required of you is all lined out ahead of time and they'll inform of anything more that needs to be done.

Cons

Store manager is a craps shoot, one manager can be horrific and stick around and long time and the good managers always seem to be let go. Sometimes getting coverage for a shift you want off can be difficult as some employees don't want to work more than they have to. Caribou is open every day of the year(depending on the store) so there's a chance of working on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years etc. and it's often a battle to get those days off ahead of time.

Pros

Free Coffee!.. And, it's a company that values true guest service (unlike rude Starbucks employees) and it is a company you can be proud to work for (many humanitarian-type efforts as a company). The customers genuinely appreciate you being there. It does take a lot of physical effort/ activity and you have to be able to think on your feet during the morning rushes but you stay fit and active while at work (you get paid to exercise)!

Cons

They are open from 5:30am to as late as 11:00pm- many hours on-call and little time for social life. On another note, I was invited to join the management program. I went through months of training and interviewing for promotions, while still being paid a low hourly wage as a shift supervisor. I later found out through word of mouth that company growth had halted and my wait for a management position and the salary to match would be much longer than initially promised. After confronting management (who had neglected to tell me weeks or months earlier), I found out that my wait would be significantly long and now, I am no longer able to survive off $8.45 hourly and will be looking for a new job. I feel like a lot of my time was wasted.
