Pros

Iconic brand with terrific CEO who clearly has created stability and profit through his leadership . Worldwide brand recognition, quality product and financial growth has created desirable work environment that attracts employees up front. Adorable clothes and children that make it a fun .

Cons

Wholesale is driving force of brand with retail division being a small contributor, therefore, the retail division was not a priority to invest in. Opportunity to upgrade in retail division within leadership (HQ & Field) teams, store systems and overall organization. Heavy work load in stores with inadequate payroll , non competitive pay rates and extreme operational focus takes away from pushing business to next level & consumer experience.

Pros

Carter's is the leading brand for baby and children's clothing; therefore, you constantly have new customers. You are able to build relationships with customers, as they tend to be very loyal to the brand.

Cons

Carter's has been growing so fast over the past several years. Unfortunately, the support staff at corporate isn't able to keep up with the demands of the individual stores. The HR Manager is impossible to get ahold of, and you'll often never get a call back. The Loss Prevention department is almost nonexistent. They offer no assistance to the stores when they need it, which is quite often due to shoplifting. The payroll model is horrible. The workload is constantly heavy, yet there are no hours to support execution. The company promotes training and development, but sales associates barely get hours to support any development. The company starts sales associates at or just a bit above minimum wage, so attracting and retaining good talent is nearly impossible.
