Pros

Good relationship between co-workers. Very important for carrying the job throughout the day. Upper management tries to maintain the employees overall satisfaction. They try their best to manage the financial aspect so that the hospital stays in the black. Good medical insurance, although it became very expensive lately. Clean, safe, equalitarian environment.

Cons

Management doesn't ONCE asks the employees of ideas and suggestions about improving things in their department and/or around the hospital. Some of their ideas are anachronic. They haven't stepped into the 21st century yet - they don't use democratic management. They use the old religious style - pyramid management - with the top person holding all the power. Lower management is a little too controlling. They seem scared about how the departments' performance reflects on their own evaluation. So they worry more about their seat than anything else. The no retaliation policy - the official hospital policy - dilutes down the management tree.

Pros

You have a job and that's about it

Cons

Training for new RN's is decent; very little continuing Ed for "Seasoned Nurses" , Benefits are decent although they discriminate against same sex spouses, and do not offer any coverage for a same sex spouses, Catholic institution or not get with the times- they promote words like partner and significant other in the workplace yet they do not take care of their own employee's families. Compensation is decent and their is a pay scale ladder. Yes you have 4 weeks vacation but you can never use it when you want to. Managers only care about their job and want makes themselves look good to the upper up's. They do not hire ANYONE with a disclosed physical disability, many people that have gotten hurt in the workplace were not offered their jobs back.
