Pros

* I received a paycheck * Being able to go home at the end of the day

Cons

Cedarhurst Living is a company ran by small brained “leaders” with large egos. If you kiss up to these so called leaders, you will go far and be rewarded with job titles that don’t match your skill set. Sometimes better job titles were offered in lieu of higher compensation. Take note of all the Directors and VPs in this company. It has a top-heavy management structure. There was a very high turnover rate in the accounting department. The accounting supervisor, at the time, didn’t even know how to do the work of the people he was supervising. Long hours were common because there weren’t enough accountants to complete the work. If you are looking for a place where you are undervalued, the leaders lie and you are told you are replaceable, Cedarhurst is for you. If you have half a brain, look elsewhere.

Pros

I have very fond memories working at Cedarhurst. I still laugh and sometimes cry when thinking back on my lovely residents with whom I spent my days with. I was able to build a connection with each individual resident and I loved them dearly. I was able to work this job during my schooling, and they were very flexible with hours. I worked Part-time to Full-time, and I could work day, weekend, and even overnight shifts! The environment overall was very welcoming, and had I stayed after completing my four-year degree, I may have attempted to work my way up to upper management -as there IS room to grow in this company if you work hard towards that.

Cons

Sometimes only one caregiver to a floor-this was not ideal for the residents and the caregiver had to work many jobs at one time. Overall, sometimes understaffed which led to high stress working situations and not high enough pay to compensate for that stress.

Pros

Good pay Free meals Wonderful Residents

Cons

Management picks favorites Management will lie to you They allow nursing home residents to be there so if you don’t like wiping butts and getting beat by residents this isn’t the job for you. They also made every employee buy Christmas gifts for the residents out of our own money because they’re to money hungry to buy the residents anything.
