Pros

Leader in the market. Well received in the field Customers are generally receptive and eager Sales colleagues and generally collaborative and helpful.

Cons

Sales goals appear random and unfair at times. No explanation is given. There is no consistency and no means of recourse. One year they could single you out for a dramatic increase at the same time that they significantly decrease everyone else's goal on the same team. It will take a huge bite out of your earnings. Like a difference of $40K in a year when you actually increased sales year over year. Don't bring in any large sales in April until goals are announced. They'll just add that on top of the goal they are going to give you. Save it for May or June.

Pros

Great colleagues, compassionate, and hard working. They care about their products, students, faculty and education. There are people here with expertise, loyalty, and real passion for education.

Cons

Dysfunctional with all the layoffs, reorganizations, and silo mentality. I agree with many other posters- lots of bullying happening from management. One of the biggest bullies recently left, but the culture carries on. Those with experience are not respected and upper management does not want to hear from employees, change and direction comes from the top down. Employees are afraid to speak up at town halls in fear so ask leading questions to make them and management look good. The work load continues to grow, yet salaries do not. The office is depressing and everyone is in fear of losing their job-every day.

Pros

The people you'll work with are great. As an editorial assistant I was in it deep and the in-it-together feeing kept us together.

Cons

Low pay, change in direction every 6 months, completely unstable.
