Pros

Decent variety of benefits. Workspace is clean. Keurig in the break area.

Cons

Manager will tell you that "on call" is every few weeks. "On call" is actually a weekend workday from 8 AM to 10 PM without breaks. "On call" can be three out of four Saturdays or Sundays in a month. Weekday "on call" is working an extended work day until 10 PM. Next day is 8 am as expected. Total hours are 60 to 64 hours per week every week. Expect to be told after a few months working that you will be expected to work late every Friday night until you are "released" to leave. That Friday is unpaid time. Salary will seem good until your "on call" pay is significantly less than market rate on weekends due to 14 hour workday, and is 10.00 per hour during the week. Calculating on call pay plus salary will drop your average wage significantly because of hours required. Do the math before you accept a position. High turnover. in four months 3 nurses resigned. None had been there even six months.

Pros

Was able to establish a good working relationship with the whole Hospice team and provide excellent care to our patients .

Cons

Corporate is always about the $$$$$. They do not want any overtime but the staff always ends up documenting after hours. The documentation for all disciplines is horrible especially for nurses.

Pros

Great patients ... excellent Insurance cost

I was promoted to management several months ago. UPON accepting the promotion a colleague questioned my decision as they reported African Americans usually do not last long in the office. This being said I pressed on taking a pay cut to explore possible professional growth. Here is my experience 1. I am currently with a management title performing the same amount of patient visit as the other RNs in the field. There is another person in the office with my title yet patient care in the field is not performed. 2. I am the only person in the office required to be primary nurse on call. It has been almost 6 months and nothing has changed but my title and pay. I wonder if I made a huge error in judgement and should have listened when told we are not wanted in the office. Or perhaps it is kindred's policy to promote in title only. Is there a racial divide that I can not see.
