Half the company is afraid to stand up to certain Sr. Management and as a result everyone suffers
Will work you to the bone. Some people were working 12+ hour days every day for years until finally quitting
No real reward for working as hard as you can
If they ask for your opinion and its not in line with what Sr. management wants to hear, you'll be told to "stay positive". If you continue to express your opinion you'll be demoted and/or fired. Have seen this happen to 3+ people
Training for anything extra-curricular was always promised but never delivered on. The mandatory training they have now is only good if you're a brand new employee. They still forced us to go to all of them.
The teams are so busy and fragmented that if you try to implement any new process or ways to make things work smoother they just fall apart because everyone reverts back to their own way of doing things. Not a bad thing in and of itself but management constantly pushes "new processes" that change every 3 months in an attempt to curtail this.
Extreme micromanagement by some Sr. management
Will treat salary employees like they're hourly with none of the benefits. Will expect you to constantly work OT w/o any extra pay but if you want to take off early or take a long lunch once in a while you better get it approved or be prepared to stay even later.
Different rules for different employees. Some can take off early whenever, some can come in late, some have to stay 9 hours, some can go after 6. One employee would work at home 2 days a week and come in 5 hours a day. This is fine when you have a large company with lots of teams but when you have 70 people it doesn't really work.... If you bring any of this up to management you're told to just worry about yourself and your upcoming performance review.
They didn't give anyone raises due to budgetary concerns and then proceeded to give management bonuses a few months later while still not giving people their yearly merit increase.
There is extreme nepotism, people that are unqualified will have and keep their jobs even though they are completely incompetent and cost the company thousands in contracts and screw ups
There is NO EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK, no set rules for everybody, just whatever HR decides on a person by person basis with no guideline
