Pros

The work is meaningful — we have a mental health crisis in America and CH is doing great work to support teens who would otherwise have no effective care options. The company is also doing well. All my friends at other startups are getting laid off or the companies are failing. We’re doing great. Turns out a good idea and working hard is a good recipe.

Cons

It’s stressful — The best startups always feel like a rocketship that is constantly on the verge of ripping apart at the seams. So every day it feels like something is going to break. This is also not a 9-5 job, that’s Best Buy, not Charlie Health.

Pros

Inspiring Co-Founders - I am continuously impressed with how open the co-founders, Carter, Caroline, and Justin are with sharing their stories and their "why" to show up for work each day. I've had the opportunity to get to know them to varying degrees and am constantly impressed with their candor, intelligence, and authenticity. Clear Mission & Values - From my first day at Charlie Health, leadership has always been clear that the top priority is fulfilling our mission. In all decisions, the leadership team goes back to first principles and ask themselves - "what will help more kids get better as quickly as possible with the best outcomes?" In my experience, it's been nearly impossible to find another healthcare organization that talks the talk and walks the walk in this way - this is largely a product of CCO Dr. Caroline Fenkel's vision and guidance. Incredible Talent - Charlie Health only hires the best of the best. The recruitment process can be quite intense for this reason. It also creates a unique opportunity to learn from excellent teammates. I've learned more in the last 9 months than I have in years in other roles. Everyone who works here has incredible strengths that they bring to the table in order to solve the youth mental health crisis. High Impact - In my role, I've always felt the freedom to express my ideas and, more importantly, execute them. I feel I have the trust of my manager to act quickly. It's fun to have the ability to create changes big or small and see the impact clearly on the clinician or client experience. Connection - One of our core values is Connection. Carter talks about being "relationship obsessed" and she is. She cares deeply about her team and about making Charlie Health a generational company. I've also had the opportunity to develop what I hope will be lifelong friendships at this organization. Progressive Approach - The program established by Dr. Caroline Fenkel is truly cutting-edge. It's fun and exciting to be a part of something that's going to change the world.

Cons

High Expectations - Charlie Health truly redefined the term "fast-paced" for me, but I'm someone who enjoys in this type of environment. I joined at a point in my life when I was looking for a challenge, and it's been the right fit for me; however, Charlie Health is not for those that are looking to remain in their comfort zone. The work is demanding because lives are on the line. Charlie Health doesn't give participation trophies. Successful folks are low-ego. Ambiguity - While Charlie Health has grown rapidly, we're still a young company. Given this, at times there can be ambiguity. People who thrive here know how to navigate this and are able to go beyond their scope to solve problems with little oversight or guidance.

WFH Competitive Pay Networking with others in the field

Cons

Literally everything else. Super unorganized, leadership with no experience and literally Bachelor holders doing your interview. No HR team. No communication. No employee burn out consideration.
