Cons
Blaming, gaslighting, emotional abuse, retaliation - all part of my experience at Charlie Health, and many others as well. Don’t be fooled by their mission, while there may have been the best intentions to start, the company has evolved into a money hungry organization that will do anything it takes to continue on a trajectory built on inflated numbers from COVID times. Because they helped X number of people during covid “there’s no reason why we can’t continue to do that and more” despite zero market analysis being done. There are blanketed goals and expectations across the nation and when the company fails to penetrate a new market, blame is placed solely on the outreach team member without any training or support. Numbers are the only thing that matter and there are zero individualized professional development goals for team members simply because they do not care about your individual growth or success. There are zero excuses as leaderships is aware and feedback has been shared multiple times, unfortunately there is zero support from management as they too “are under a lot of pressure from leadership”. It’s a toxic and unforgiving culture that results in you being placed on a performance improvement plan (laughable to say the least and a perfect example of the arbitrary leadership at this company and incompetence by those in charge) followed by being let go, or you will be entirely overworked and continue to pour from an empty glass to meet their unrealistic expectations (not sustainable and will ultimately still lead to your demise at this company). Leadership is extremely unprofessional at all levels. “Clear is kind” is their motto but leadership will lie to anyone to cover their mistakes and try to save team moral. Employee performance is discussed with others and other team member’s names are constantly brought up in 1:1 conversations with managers putting you in very uncomfortable positions with your teammates. For a mental health company, they are destroying the mental health of the amazing human beings who truly care about helping and supporting others. Benefits are laughable and too expensive for anyone with dependents. Ridiculous pay discrepancies between employees and expect to be let go quicker if you’re making more.
