Pros

- decent starting pay - diverse demographics - (there's no such thing as a) free lunch - team managers tend to be good people who have your back - opportunities to get certifications and training all paid by the company - a good stepping stone for your career as long as you start looking for a new job the second you get out of probation and got the certs you wanted

Cons

- constantly understaffed - extremely high turnover due to the stress of the job and low higher-tier pay, so most of the company is usually very inexperienced. so many people quit before their first year is over so they can go work somewhere less horrible - constantly overworked - I can count the number of days per month I didn't put in at least 1 extra hour on one hand, and often up to 3. at the end I was on salary so wasn't even getting compensated for the extra hours - cramped cube farm with extra-short walls - everything is numbers driven and if you're doing great work on fewer cases you'll get a worse review than people who slack off and manipulate their way into case closures and pass the buck. this is an enterprise TAC with highly trained professionals, but it's run with a minimum wage call center mentality - you'll get tired of the lies that come out of your mouth trying to excuse inexcusable things to customers real quick - everyone's so tightly wound all the time the office gets either loopy or explosive and perfectly good people start yelling at and grow to resent each other - HR? what HR? flagrant disregard for Canadian anti-discrimination laws because the Israeli execs don't care and no accommodations are given if your problem exists outside of their worldview. seen some great engineers kicked to the curb because they had personal difficulties that should had BASIC, simple solutions that most other modern companies have already adopted - plies employees with cheap amenities like free pop as such an obvious tactic to distract them from the fact that this job is awful that it's insulting - I've seen the TAC director VISIBLY STRAIN to try to give a crap about an employee as a person - if you're the kind of person who cares about the quality of your work you're gonna get PTSD if you work here too long and that is not an exaggeration, it's an actual diagnosis.

Dying Company Guided By Horrible Leadership

Pros

- Pretty good benefits - There are some great people to work with - Good technology - Great place to get your feet wet because they are one of the few people who will hire you without technology experience (because they pay so poorly, they have to)

Cons

Check Point is a company that continues to lose market share at a rapid pace due to its outdated strategy and horrific management. The company places no value on sales and that comes straight from the CEO. The company grows at 5% a quarter or even less which is mind-boggling for a cybersecurity company. Their 2 main competitors do not even consider them competition at this point. The culture is horrific as US leadership has zero ability to do anything without Israel's blessing. Everything is micromanaged from Israel which takes forever and creates a culture of resentment. The biggest red flag is the leadership. When you listen to the head of global sales and US sales speak, you realize that they would not be the sales leader in any other tech organization in the world. All hands calls are the most uninspiring things you have ever heard. Many senior managers running the largest accounts in the company have no education beyond high school where peer organizations are being led by MBA's or people with advanced certifications. The company is beyond cheap and it creates a culture that sales managers tell you to lie on expense reports to make yourself whole due to outdated expense policies. The commission structure is unattainable and no one will tell you where your numbers come from or how they got there. This put on top on comp plans that pay people 25 to 40 percent below market value makes for a really bad sales organization that averages over 60% turnover year over year. The icing on the cake is that you will be selling a product that is 25% more expensive versus your competition. Check Point is also considered extremely difficult to work with by customers and partners. Once you leave, you will realize who few people actually want to deal with them. The culture is so bad and if you ever have an issue and go to HR, good luck. It's like working with someone that has the competence of a 3rd grader. Again, you get what you pay for.

Pros

Career opportunities and progression paths offered are unprecedented in a company of this size, where Front Desk Managers, junior IT personnel, and even the cleaning workers can find themselves doing things from HR to DevOps if the company sees their potential. Junior engineers making it all the way to VP aren't an uncommon story. This also applies to exposure to technologies, third parties, customers, and technical training regardless of the designated role.

Cons

Salaries are fair but are almost never high compared to the industry.
