Pros

Solid technology. Respected name and customer loyalty for legacy firewall products. North America TAC/support managers are professional and care about customers.

Cons

Horrible culture. Global HQs does everything, and not well. Local/regional mgrs have no ability to effect change. KPIs, KPIs, KPIs. No one wants to hear feedback or suggestions, even on behalf of customers. Systems are complex and training is cursory. Very poor communication. Mgmt forecasts way too high, and then everyone pays the price with threats of being fired. You will fight for every penny of commissions. Don't plan to ever make OTE. The competition is light years ahead on marketing and partner enablement. CEO in Israel has to approve every local marketing campaign worldwide.

Terrible pay, and hard to progress

Pros

I was lucky to work with a great team of people that I enjoyed seeing every day. I got to travel and kept a work-life balance. Some perks, like the employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) in Israel; central office location; holiday gifts.

Cons

- Bad communication between departments - Most people get little to no training - Managers' hands are tied - lots of bureaucracy in terms of hiring and firing, and budget allocation. - The whole company is micromanaged by the top 2-3 execs - Pay is notoriously low and incentives are a joke - Marketing is suppressed and discouraged, if and when it exists - Sales teams are given ridiculous, increasingly-unachievable targets YoY, and Business Analysis cannot or will not explain the reasoning behind the commission structure. - Tasks change frequently, and if you're not adaptable/able to let the inconsistencies go over your head, it'll drive you crazy. - High staff turnover - Very cultural-specific mentality - if you want something, you have to make yourself heard, push for it, and make a fuss. - When raises are given (to people in the sales team), they are insultingly low.

Pros

-Free lunch -Fun training (before hitting the floors and troubleshooting) -Team activities\trips -Some great colleagues -Technology is awesome. Most fun i've ever supported/played with -So much to learn and puzzles to solve -Learn, learn and leave. You're doors have opened to a whole industry that's expanding. Think of it as a paid course that you have to attend. Graduate in 2 years to find another job. -I still love check point products. Best i have every worked with and will probably continue to be.

Cons

-Metrics are the worst. They don't monitor what they intend to. -Being skilled\the best will most likely not be proven in the metrics. In fact, you maybe at the bottom end -Pay is horrible -Micro management at it's finest. However, there are a couple of managers that are awesome -A lot of political games played with customers. At times i had to be dishonest to Diamond customers as i was advised. I wasn't supposed to be receiving their calls any way. -Raises are laughable. Might as well give them the money (they act like they're poor) -I have never had a manager stand up for me. Even when it was racial slurs by customers. I'm the one who got spoke to for refusing to help a customer. -When you find a better paying job, they will do their best to retain you, offer a great salary increase etc ....

Pros

Started out as a great support center with very knowledgeable support engineers and great product. Focus was on technical support. All of the security engineers were experienced and knew their stuff

Cons

The management was mediocre. Started to focus on the bottom line. Brought in call center managers who focused on cutting back talk time and escalating calls vs solving them. Started a tiered evaluation process to filter out highly paid (experienced) engineers and brought in lower paid, straight out of school entry level staff. Obviously support suffered. Also, rolled out software with full knowledge that it was "buggy". This increased support calls. No wonder stock price fell by $100 (at the time).

Pros

-Lunch is covered by up to ~$8.00 every day -You can work as much overtime as you like -Flexible PTO -Personal growth (promote within) -Travel opportunities, mainly Canada and Israel if you are a Technical Support Advisor (company provides means of compensation) -Upper level management is very understanding and ask for you to share your thoughts/ideas with them -All product team managers are very understanding and easy to get along with -You have the ability to expand your product knowledge by attending training- after your shift or during the work day, depending on the subject. -Happy Hour once a month (no alcohol) with great food and drinks/deserts. -One big cake per month for to recognize birthdays and service anniversaries -Yearly raises/bonuses -Depending on how you treat others, it's like one big family

Cons

-High stress levels -Workload is way too high -Under staffed -Turnover rate -Under paid by a large margin (~ $20-$30k)
