They acquired companies, strip and replace them with cheap labor

Pros

It was very flexible and the overall atmosphere was positive.

Cons

Somewhere along the acquisition spree and ego pumping. There as huge turnover (more accurately, a purge!) starting from the top. When it reached the bottom it was a bloodbath for US employees. To anyone with an offer in hand or is looking for a job. Checkr(currently) is only good for collecting temporary paychecks. Your real career is still out there. I was given monopoly money with an expiration date unless the company goes public. Which it probably won't. Only the very top level could cash out on Checkr perceived market value. No one else could until it IPO.

Pros

- industry standard pay i guess

Cons

- throwing company wide events then lays people off 2 months later. - Usually I would like to say lay offs are understandable business decision. Happened to me before. Getting a new job is not hard as a software engineer. With that said, seeing how they spend their money on luxury and laying off 1/3 of the company? I would never recommend this place as a professional work place. If you are looking for a 1-2 year stay. This is the place. - 10x performance, 0 work life balance. - Up talks how company is doing, down talks bad profit margins.

Friendly, helpful, and passionate employees. Good compensation on the lower end. Unlimited PTO

Cons

Toxic and out of touch leadership Brutal performance metrics Rude, angry, and impatient customers Only work here if you live for grinding out KPIs to make your egotistical boss even wealthier.
