Pros

Decent benefits, amazing mission that drives most employees, solid product compared to competition

Cons

Checkr has changed a lot in the last year and ironically gotten worse after a company goal was implemented to make it the best place to work. It is probably the most hierarchical company I’ve ever worked for and ICs, managers, directors have zero control over their business - every decision is made in a vacuum by the CEO and maybe other C Staff members. There is no path to career growth and they put that decision back on ICs to “figure out what they want their path to be.” Pay has gotten less competitive too and they refuse to keep up with current rates and inflation. Unfortunately turnover is at a high and Checkr is bleeding good people, and doesn’t seem to care to stop it.

Thanks for your review and critical feedback. Indeed it's been a tough year for everyone, Checkr certainly isn't an exception. While not always successful in changing things, Checkr has tried to take actions to affect change against our survey results. We've pulled together cross-functional teams with exec sponsors and come up with different plans and processes. I do agree that there is a need for improvement in execution. I sincerely hope you will give the company the chance to show you otherwise. But thank you for your hard work and patience to this point. We must do better for you and for all Checkrs. - Arthur / Recruiting

Pros

The office + Food, and company willingness to spend money on tools for success

Cons

Sexual harassment, mind-games, bad leaders, either sociopaths or children (or both) in charge, bad strategy for sales, total lack of market awareness. Sales diversity existed, but only bro-y men moved up. No women or LGBT people. Inexperienced sales leaders. Or experienced sales leaders that never bothered to learn the business.
