Pros

The two most obvious perks are free food and Sundays off. I also enjoyed the team members I had the opportunity to work with.

Cons

DISCLAIMER: Every store is owned and operated individually. This description may not fit all circumstances; however, here are a few negatives I've personally experienced from working at my store. Depending what position you're working, conditions can be harsh. I live in Florida, and the average daily temperature during the summer is in the mid-90s. Many Chick-fil-A's including the one I was employed at, require team members to stay outside for prolonged periods of time. There was an employee rushed to the ER after he'd been outside for hours without hydration. Chick-fil-A is known for their friendly faces, fantastic food, and caring atmosphere. While this may look the case from the outside, there are often conflicts between team members and managers. The environment I left was toxic, dramatic, and an unsafe place to work. If you are expecting Chick-fil-A to be different from any other fast food joint, you would be wrong. Finally, I found that upper management was constantly using people for their own benefit. In 2019 I was hired as an "Assistant Director" or Chick-fil-A's version of an assistant manager. I was quickly thrown to the wolves and expected to perform with no training. While I eventually earned myself a kitchen manager position, I was never given the "Assistant Director" position I was promised.

Pros

- Flexible scheduling. - They don't hire a ton of people per location, so you can go full time easily. - Staff and management are like family. No drama at all. - Operator (owner) and management were the best I've ever had across retail, full service restaurants, and office jobs.

Cons

- Managers should be paid better, they are awesome! - The work load varies. You can be sitting twiddling your thumbs for an hour, then swamped the next. - No paid vacation time.

Pros

Chick-fil-A is a great brand and to be hired as an event planner, selling an already known brand was great. Fun, fast-paced environment where you can interact with customers.

Cons

The store makes all the difference. Do your research a get to know the GMs before you sign on. Don't be deceived. The job descriptions vary GREATLY from store to store. I was hired to be a Director of Marketing and I ended up doing less and less of that and more behind the counter. Not what I signed on to do.
