Pros

Discount available for all 3 brands.

Cons

The new leadership has stopped caring about the team at Chico’s Fas. In a critical time like Covid-19, many CEOs have stopped receiving a pay check to allow their team to be paid. This CEO accepted a 25% pay increase while terminating staff without providing severance. Some of those people have worked for the company for over 10 years. Only VPs and above received severance at 50% of their salary. Many others are still furloughed. Everyone who hasn’t been furloughed is only receiving 50% of their pay. 401k matching is not occurring and you can’t take vacation or use your vacation hours to supplement your pay. How leadership reacts in difficult times speaks volumes.

Thank you for posting your comments. As a Company, we are experiencing one of the most difficult retail environments ever. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has challenged our business operations causing the Company to take actions we never anticipated in order to secure the long-term stability of Chico’s FAS. The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated the temporary closure of our stores. Although we immediately pivoted to provide an amazing and robust online experience for our customers, the loss of in-store sales has significantly impacted our business. To preserve and protect the long-term stability of the Company, we reorganized our business operations, reduced our workforce, and consolidated functions to be better positioned to recover once the current business downturn ends and in-store sales resume. We are deeply saddened that we had to take these actions and do not take these decisions lightly. Reductions to our workforce are always difficult. Our goal has been, and continues to be, not only to survive these trying times, but to thrive as the Company that always provides the Most Amazing Personal Service to everyone. We look forward to rebuilding the organization and wish all those affected the best as we all navigate the future.

Pros

There are no pros now.

Cons

Unlike most other companies that helped their employees during this tough time, they decided to cut our pay 50%....BUT still expect us to work 40+ hours keeping the website going.

Thank you for posting your comments. At Chico’s FAS we are working diligently to ensure the health and safety of our Associates as well the continuity of our business operations. Like many other retailers, we have temporarily reduced our store operations in compliance with state and local safety regulations while continuing to provide an amazing online experience for our customers. We appreciate the cooperation and support of all our Associates during this unprecedented global health crisis. Please visit the internal Chico’s FAS Share Point site to learn more about the resources available to all impacted Associates.

Pros

The only reason are the employee discounts. But they aren't great. Sometimes the regular "clearance" sales are better than what Chico's offers because everything is so expensive (and overpriced).

Cons

No benefits, NO recognition, only criticism of what you HAVEN'T done. The hourly rate is maybe $9.00/hour, which is pathetic. The commission structure is even worse. You only get decent commission if you have one sale over $500. But the worst thing about working for this company is they expect you to sell, sell, sell, while you put away new stock, steam clothes, clean the store, process locates (orders to ship out), send emails to customers, and now be ONLINE for the virtual website??? All for $9.50/hour. There is NO communication at my store, NO training, and absolutely NO recognition for anything good you've done, only criticism.
