Pros

Your able to work from home

Cons

The only positive aspect of this department is the ability to work from home. However, the level of micromanagement is extreme. While checks and balances are important, leadership takes them to an excessive level, nitpicking minor details and magnifying small issues. A particular individual in leadership consistently speaks to employees in a condescending and belittling manner, and upper management allows it. As a result, more than 70% of the team has left due to the toll on their mental health. New hires rarely stay the full 90 days, often citing the overwhelming stress and insufficient pay. Employees who transferred in from other departments frequently return to their previous roles because of how miserable they feel here. The department started with approximately 17 team members but has dwindled to just six due to poor management. The focus is more on control than on the impact employees have on patient care. While working for Children’s can be rewarding, this department, in particular, is stressful—not because of the parents calling about billing, but because of how it is being run. If you value your mental health and a low-stress work environment, this is not the place to be.
