-Strong interdisciplinary team -PTO -Reputable Employer -Networking/Resources

Cons

-Hard work is not acknowledged by upper management -High turnover -Poor orientation -Low pay scale vs other acute care hospitals in area -Seniority within hospital/dept is not respected in regards to getting schedule changes -Productivity standards continue to rise despite low pay scale -No incentive/ shift differential for working weekends

Pros

Great for gaining ICU experience, training available through nurse internship program, good shift differential offered, able to rotate day and night schedules. Great use of multi-disciplinary team in ICU, high-acuity patients. Magnet hospital. 1:2 nurse to patient ratio and 1:1 ratios for CRRT, balloon-pump, and hypothermia patients. Good managers and supportive co-workers.

Cons

Call requirements, high staff turn over (for assorted, typically personal reasons) makes it difficulty to get day shift only. Position pay rate is just now adjusting to come closer (but is still somewhat lower) to what is offered at other hospitals in the area.
