Pros
You can get a paycheck. They offer vacation. They have the same opportunities as everyone else.
Cons
I would highly advise you call around when looking at a contract job. The job opportunities are released to many many contract houses. Some are very bad (no vacation, no benefits) and some are below average (Ciber). None are good. I'll mention it again. The same jobs with the same rates are available at multiple places. So call around when you see the job posted. Check the time off, health care costs, and pay rates. Ciber in general has a very disorganized front office, and the recruiters are very pushy. Mine made up some story about how I had to let her know within 24 hours when I had gotten a job offer. It came off as pushy and unprofessional. It was a red flag but I was already stuck and had to sign with them. Finally the pay is very low but that goes for all contact houses. You can be in a meeting and your direct worker coworkers will likely be making 2x what you take home. Ciber are taking in at least 25% of your pay and keeping it. Also at Ciber the health care coverage is very poor and it is expensive ($6900 deductible for $40 per month). It is $180 per month of you want a lower $1000 deductible.
