Pros

Supportive teammates, Interesting domain and problems to work on, Pause for performance, socials

Cons

I dont usually write reviews but wanted to share my experiance. It often feels like leadership has no idea what the reality is for engineers. Sometimes it honestly feels like leaders need glasses to see what is happening on the ground. Many directors seem like they are treating this role like a retirement job and doing the bare minimum. The architecture structure is also strange. There are more architects than engineers and they are not very technical(sometimes has no idea at all of what a technology is, or what archiect's role is). When engineers ask for solutions we sometimes get memes or vague discussions instead of real technical direction. Engineers are overloaded and dont have much capacity, but when it comes to promotions leadership often says there is no budget. I have personally been passed over for promotion for years while others who dont seem to deliver much grow easily. My fellow engineers are great though. Very supportive and hardworking. They are mostly surviving, not really thriving, because many are burnt out.

Thank you for taking the time to share a candid and detailed review. We value this feedback and want to acknowledge both the positives you’ve highlighted and the concerns you’ve raised. We’re pleased to hear your comments about supportive teammates, collaboration and the interesting problems our engineers are working on. Strong peer support and shared commitment are core strengths at Cirium and it’s encouraging to see that reflected in your experience. Equally important, we want to be clear that we take your concerns seriously and are committed to addressing them. Feeling exhausted, burnt out or disconnected from leadership, particularly when it comes to technical direction, workload and career progression, is not acceptable and it’s not the environment we want to create for our engineering community. Cirium has a comprehensive employee wellbeing support programme, and we encourage you to discuss any concerns you have with your manager or Hub leader. Your feedback on technical leadership, architectural clarity, and role balance reinforces the need for us to ensure that leadership is both technically credible and closely aligned with the day‑to‑day reality of engineering work. We are actively focused on improving how technical decisions are made, communicated and supported, so engineers receive clear, practical guidance rather than ambiguity. We also recognise the importance of fair, transparent progression. Promotions and growth must be based on meaningful contribution and impact. Where this has not felt consistent or achievable, we are committed to reviewing and improving our approach so that effort and results are recognised appropriately. Thank you again for sharing your perspective. We encourage colleagues to continue raising feedback through our internal employee pulse survey as well, so we can better understand experiences on the ground and continue to make meaningful progress.

Pros

Company has great overall culture Very Supportive Colleagues Great learning opportunities as it's backed up by Relx.

Cons

-Lack of Technical Understanding: the current leadership, especially in architectural roles, technical expertise, are leading to misalignment in priorities and inefficiencies. - Negative aimpact on Team moral: The lack of Technical Insights and presence of toxicity has lowered the team morale and productivity. - Inconsistent Leadership: My manager often priorities humour and distractions over meaningful technical guidance, resulting in unclear direction and missed opportunities in team. - Lack of action and erosion of trustq: Despite raising concerns multiple time to manager directly as well as Leadership about the technical and behaviour shortcomings, no meaningful actions were taken to adress them. Instead of corrective actions, he was promoted to larger role to distroy the morale of other engineering teams as well.

Thank you for sharing such detailed feedback and for your long service at Cirium. We appreciate you recognising the strong culture, supportive colleagues and learning opportunities. We take your concerns seriously. Teams need technically credible leadership, clear direction and consistent behaviours. When leaders minimise concerns, rely on distraction instead of guidance, or allow toxicity to persist, they lower morale, reduce productivity, and erode trust. We do not accept that as “normal,” and we expect leaders to address issues, not deflect them. We recognise that listening to feedback is only meaningful if it leads to action. Ensuring concerns are taken seriously, decisions are well‑informed, and progression is based on merit are all critical to maintaining trust and psychological safety within our teams. Where this has not been the experience, we know there is work to do. We appreciate you speaking openly about your experience. Feedback like this reinforces our commitment to strengthening leadership capability, accountability and our focus on people, culture and belonging across Cirium.

Pros

Non tech culture looks great Over all company culture is great People are nice Most Engineering managers are what is holding people in the company Product is nice

Cons

Architects(not all but lead architect) are incompetent. Its strange to see how in competent people add value to the company without actually adding anything:) Culture is facing the down fall Technical leadership from last year has brought the culture of service based company to this great place to work Some of the newer members of TLT are been given the role to destroy what is left of now. Feedback ratings are so good as 80% of people are new and they dont know what they have got themselves into. If you work great, you will be awarded with someone who might be the most incompetent person of this company. Toxic culture at its best Boot licking gets you promoted Hypocrisy gets you a role in Leadership 50% of TLT lacks principles and some of them are frauds.
