Pros

Good benefits and PTO, good work life balance

Cons

Management seems to recognize and reward the wrong people and it is a morale killer. They are Management says they want anonymous feedback but actually got mad at the team for some anonymous feedback that was given and the feedback was valid. I couldn't believe it! I stopped giving feedback in their system.

Pros

Part of the larger Relx group, which potentially open up opportunities to move around if you're able to get through the hurdles.

Cons

Management is a good boy network. Opportunities are created and extended to the same people over and over again regardless of poor performance in current or past roles. Many in leadership are in over their heads and seem to not have the experience or background to be effective in their roles. Health benefits are dictated by Relx and are vastly more expensive than they should be for a company the size of Relx compared to other companies. Pay is below market rate where many offices are located, making it difficult to attract and hold onto quality individuals.

Pros

Good vacation time, maternity and paternity leave, ok 401k match, benefits just ok.

Cons

Management is suffocating. They preach agile but do not even know themselves what agile is and yell at people trying to promote agile or otherwise block their efforts to be agile. Some managers have no idea how to handle employee conflict and blame and punish the wrong people or blow a small conflict out of proportion or, take a big conflict that is dragging down the team and don't handle it at all. Some managers are still a big part of day to day activities, micromanage and ruining employee morale. I have worked at a lot of places and this one has to be one of the worst cultures I have ever seen. It is very dysfunctional. The different teams do not effectively communucate causing alot of issues that could be easily prevented with proper processes. Management claims they are open to feedback, but don't bother, they don't want to hear it, if you try they yell at you. They say they value your professional growth, but that is impossible here, no growth opportunities and no direction either from managers. If you are in software QA, definitely stay away, testers are seen as not even existing and developers are held to a higher standard above and beyond anything I have ever seen at any other place I have worked at, even when developers are wrong ( and I am not a tester, I am a developer saying this, I have seen QA get alot of abuse here). Management is driving away their best strongest people and killing morale. Besides all this, its simply a sinking ship. They deal with the airline industry which is falling apart and not expected to be back for a long time. If you are desperate for a job, then take it and start looking again. If you have a job, my advice. Do not come here!
