      Pros

      The company is struggling with the economic times and yet continues to try to build morale. Although many of the company team building events have been scaled back, there is still recognition for a job well done.

      Cons

      RBS has strong influence upon the activities of Citizens Financial Group. The company had operated with more autonomy in the 1990's.

      Cons

      The bonus program dramatically declined over the last 2 1/2 years of my employment with the company. Once RBS took over my income declined by nearly $20,000.00 USD Annually. The "New and Improved" Compensation program, which was sold to us as being the best thing to happen to the company, ended up being the reason for my resignation. If you are a part of a successful branch in your region, be prepared to be punished for it with consistently high goals to make up for the weaker branches. This WILL effect your pocket, quarter after quarter. Also be prepared to push numerous products on customers who aren't in need. If you need 3 business accounts any particular day, you'd better convince three people they need to open a business account, or call a friend or family member for a 'favor'.

      Pros

      The benefits and pay are really good at Charter One. In an environment where banks were not paying incentive compensation, Charter One delivered on its commitment very generously. Senior Management is really good and the people are great. There are a lot of opportunities for growth if you are willing to move within the country or to Europe.

      Cons

      The systems are not up-to-date. Thankfully, they are investing in new commercial loan system and branch systems would should enhance client and employee satisfaction.
