      Toxic leadership and systemic bullying

      Pros

      Hopefully you read this in time to help make an informed decision on employment. Used to be better in past, but can’t be an individual with integrity and advance.

      Cons

      Leadership exists solely to protect their own jobs and creates a toxic culture. If you are talented, motivated and intelligent, then look elsewhere as you will be a threat to “leaders.” Cronyism and “diversity” replace morals and integrity. Turnover is rampant, while HR desperately tries to paint a happy picture and either incapable of fixing or content to cover up. 4 new directors in 1.5 years. Constant regulatory scrutiny because unqualified leaders always changing program and just protecting themselves. Just a matter of time before shareholders realize extent of hypocritical and turnover.

      Unclear priorities and leadership

      Pros

      Citizens offered a great benefits package outside of compensation. Casual dress code and employee appreciation events.

      Cons

      Citizens was completely unwilling to provide us with the tools we needed to be successful in our jobs. They frequently laid off employees, almost casually. There was a complete divide in IT, to the point that one development team worked with all new technology (including new computers), while the other team was left with older tech without being able to work with the same tools. There was absolutely no opportunity for growth, and towards the end of my time there, leadership was severely lacking. I brought up concerns about lack of learning to a manager and was given a non-answer. Lastly, the compensation is horrible for the market. I felt incredibly undervalued and really had nobody to talk to about that.

      Culture is Toxic in Enterprise Data Management

      Pros

      Smart, supportive colleagues who still value humility, have integrity and do what’s right.

      Cons

      New management arrived and rules by fear. They want the “yes man” mentality. If you disagree, then they’ll stop talking to you or you’ll get “laid off”. People are afraid to speak and are dropping like flies. Those who are around are not motivated and are actively looking for another job. People leave the dept and are not replaced (existing staff have to pick up the slack). Zero work/life balance. CYA attitude.
