Pros

- Breakroom - Able to work from home if need be

Cons

- No work life balance - If you are quiet and do your job you will never move up - The supervisors take friendships into account rather than the actual work that you do, if you are not a part of the "in clique" ( and yes, the company is more like a high school than a company) then you will never move up - Pay is a joke as are the so called bonuses that are few and far between

Mired in their own dysfunction

Pros

New building with nice amenities, flexibility, first job opportunity for new graduates in a college town

Cons

Unfortunately for CivicPlus, they are land-locked in their own little dysfunctional world. Poor decisions are heaped upon poor decisions and no one has the vision (or fortitude) to suggest a better way. So employees continue to be measured against unrealistic standards, tracked to the 15-minute interval, and leadership continues to paddle around in their own baby pool. With 100% enablement from HR policies and actions that do not hold leadership accountable to a higher standard of employee treatment and engagement.

One of the worst places I have ever worked

Pros

I cannot think of any pros.

Cons

CivicPlus is a joke of a company. First of all, Ive never had so many meetings in my life. My job was basically to attend meetings. Secondly, they behave like children in middle school. The gossip that goes around at CivicPlus is astounding. I have never worked with a company that behaves like the Mean Girls club. Even the men are that bad. Third, they are very "woke". They sent a company wide email out that told us we need to call our local politicians to complain about a law they disagreed with. That is wildly inappropriate for a company to do. They cannot handle criticism at all. They get offended at everything and they run on emotions. No one will listen to you if you tell them what they are doing isn't correct, even if they hire you to do just that. Fourth, unless you've been with the company for a long time, you will get zero respect. The amount of times I was disrespected was ridiculous. Fifth, they lie. We had all company meetings where the leadership team told us that we are making record profits and exceeding what they thought they would make. However, come time to fire someone, their excuse is that they cannot keep up with the economy. Also, if they know how bad the economy is right now, firing an employee the same day within 10 min really puts the employee in a terrible spot financially. Sixth, they are not transparent about the job you will be doing when they hire you. Seventh, they have no clue how to run an engineering department. They claim they have a certain methodology put in place, yet they go against it at every turn. They bend and manipulate said methodology to what they want it to be. Lastly, they pay very poorly. The number one complaint within the company was people's salaries. I believe this company will go belly-up within a few years time. I wouldn't waste your time and sanity here. They will have zero respect for you, be offended at everything, lie to you, all while paying you poorly. Do not work for CivicPlus. Heed this warning!

We regret that your experience did not align with the culture and values we commit to fostering for our employees. We fervently believe in treating all employees with respect and are committed to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. If that was not felt, then we need to do better. Further, we understand that it may be difficult to understand why a company must make the difficult financial decision to enter a new year with conservative projections after achieving revenue success goals the year prior. The current economic environment has led many companies — particularly in the SaaS space — to make the kind of right-sizing decisions that no company wants to make. We support all departing staff with placement services and are confident that their talents will lead them to new opportunities where they can continue to grow in their careers.
