1. The kids 100% 2. The deans usually provided great support for any students who needed some time outside of the classroom to come back down to Earth. 3. Your co-workers. Though some take the last name rule WAY too seriously(stay away from those).

Cons

1. It is a long school day (730AM-445PM) and there isn't allotted time for recess. 2. The kids are expected to be little bots. I don't know many adults that can sit upright in a seat all day much less 5-10 year olds. 3. You do get prep time but it is often cut short by mandatory meetings, late teachers, or drop-off/pickup. ATs are also given such random time-consuming responsibilities. Like cutting out word cards (every day) for a class of 20-25. 4. Again, no downtime. My lunch was about 15 minutes and less if I packed a lunch that needed to be heated up. 5. It is a school FULL of minorities yet Hispanic Heritage Month and Black History Month were literally NEVER even mentioned.

Excellent families and community, many opportunities for professional development and growth, scripted curriculum. There is a recent increase in the focus towards equity and inclusion which is being taken seriously across the school. The people who work at the school are really dedicated.

Cons

Long hours, can be really overwhelming, work load is a lot
