Unless you miss high-school, this is not a place to work.
Everything is advertised as fun and family, though when it comes down to it, you’re more than likely to get screwed over.
Besides the fact that agents are underpaid for being in insurance, agents are also withheld their hard earned commission. Clearlink claims to have “in-capped commission” when in reality, they just lower the payouts and add more qualifiers to make it impossible to earn a decent commission as soon as you make more than what they want to pay you. Then if you happen to actually meet that goal- they come up with some BS about how you were “late too much” or “took too long of a lunch” then write you up for it and doc your pay because it doesn’t meat the metrics.
There are a couple decent people that use to work here. They have since been fired. You won’t be able to trust anyone, they are all fake. And unless you want to dedicate your personal life to wine’ing and dining their idolized staff, then you won’t last. You’re either in their click, or you’ll get fired in their annual firing spree. Then get slapped in a face by reviving a text about a huge hiring event two days after said firing spree.
You will be selling to nonstandard clients in the most unethical manner possible while riding the fence of compliance. You’re pushed to use high pressure sales which is unethical in most insurance sales.
Your boss will tell you that you’re not good enough and worthless on a daily basis yet not provide you with the tools or means to improve when you seek help from him.... which, part of their job description entails training/coaching.
Most bosses are more concerned about talking about their personal life than doing their job. And you can except everyone in management to be MIA for 2-4 hours almost every day while they go to Amelias for $2 taco’s (aka tequila shots).
9 out of 10 employees I know have reached out to HR in confidence seeking protection when harassed for age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, body weight/size, race, marriage status... anything you could be harassed for. If you could name it, it’s been done. Yet when you seek out help, you’ll either get fired for a made up reason, or your paychecks will “accidentally go to someone else” and it’s nearly impossible to get them back unless you fight them on it for 6 months and threaten to get legal authorities involved.
Not to mention the company is basically bankrupt. They take on a new start up company every year, then loose the client due to their in-ethical sales and have a huge scare about being able to stay open as a business due to the fact that they over spent and can’t meet their projected goals. Each year they dwindle in size due to losing client after client.
Expect to be treat nothing more than a number that is easily replaceable. Because you will have to fight for your job on a daily basis.
Your schedule will not be flexible. If you have a personal life, you can say bye to it. You will either get your hours cut down to less than 10 because they have to “send you home on voluntary time off due to lack of call volume” (number of incoming calls) or be placed on an absurd schedule that they know you can’t work after signing an agreement to work a different schedule. Then demand you work it because it’s “more important than school or family” and if you think otherwise then, you “obviously don’t care enough to hold a steady job”.
Honestly I could go in about how terrible of a place this is to work. But if you’re not scared off yet, then maybe you’ll just fit right in. Good luck!! I hope you find a better place to work!! And if you’re a former/current employee... I feel your pain and hope you’re on a better path now/ heading your way to one.
