Pros

-Competitive pay -work/life balance -flexible work schedules -PTO and Holidays -401k match and benefits

Cons

Senior management has no clue how to structure the org and motivate teams. IT dept. continuously goes through re-orgs, but, never really addresses the main issue of leadership. No clear vision/mission. Too many managers. Senior management doesn't take time to talk/engage with employees.

Pros

Good bens--IF you can last that long--they take a while to kick in.

Cons

Automaton-like colleagues, no questioning of outmoded or nonexistent "processes," unwillingness to change anything; lack of planning, scheduling, budgeting, and on and on. A shocking experience, really.

Ageism, Poor Leadership, and Overall Decline

Pros

Flexible work from home policy. Smart co-workers. Work does impact the next generation

Cons

Where do I begin? Ageism... if you're under 40, and dedicated, you may thrive. If you're over 40, you have no growth potential, despite your stellar performance. Poor Leadership... changes constantly and lately is mostly male-dominated. They prefer to bring in someone new than to promote from within, even after being with the org for more than a decade. Steer clear of this place if you expect growth in your career. Salaries have been declining year-over-year despite the company thriving financially. You will work handling tons of tasks as if you're with a small company despite this being a 2,000 person company. They add more work each quarter and instead of hiring someone just heap it on an already stressed staff. They have been laying off top employees, changing their title, and then hiring someone new at significantly lower wages. Do you want to give up $30k just to work remote? That's what happens here. One department laid off a very senior woman after more than 20 years, and then had to hire TWO MEN to take her place. It's turning into a boys club and diversity is dwindling by the minute. Few people of color, few Spanish speaking people, and no pay equity for those that do work here. That's the current culture of the College Board and the CEO David Coleman is so disconnected from what his HR staff is doing that it won't change. Due to the current presidential administration the entire org is walking on eggshells and not willing to take a stand on anything, including their own mission. They keep eliminating programs that actually create equity in education. Don't fall for the bait and switch.
