Positive impact on students and educators. Excellent pay and benefits. Tremendous collaboration with colleagues.

Cons

Extreme liberal atmosphere that is openly hostile to employees with conservative views, especially at the CEO level and within HR leadership.

Pros

If you are lucky enough to be a good match with your manager or matched with a good manager, life could be great here. You will be given room to grow, allowed mistakes, have guidance and accountability and be rewarded for your efforts.

Cons

People are very protective of hierarchies here and are generally insecure about where their stand or their performance. If you have a bad manager you may feel that you are going to get fired at a moment's notice. Leaders obsessed with how they are perceived. Leaders should inspire. Many in leadership positions here don't.

Thanks for your feedback. We couldn’t agree more about the importance of having a great boss. We’re so committed to it that we rolled out a performance competency for all managers that sets the standard for strong management across the org. We also launched Be a Great Boss training this fall. We strive to be a place where every single person has a great boss who inspires excellence. -- Karl D'Souza

Not good for remote employees

Business Outlook

Pros

Colleagues are generally great, committed to student opportunities, most are former educators themselves.

Cons

Remote staff are frequently overlooked and management has limited interest in engaging staff outside the main office in NY. Even regional offices are often "second-class" citizens in the system.

We appreciate your feedback and couldn’t agree more on the strength of our colleagues. We pride ourselves on being a company with flexible policies for remote staff. But we know distance can present challenges. Please talk with your manager or HR about ways that we can help you feel connected in your role. --Holly Strychowski
