Pros

The College Board is a great organization to be a part of. Besides my co-workers, the mission is truly the reason why I work here. I love knowing I'm making an impact on a larger level! - Amazing Benefits - Great Company Culture - Beautiful Office

Cons

I think the biggest con I've seen from my time working here is that people are quick to throw you under the bus to protect themselves. There is no structure/order to how certain things are done and often it does get a little frustrating. It also is a little frustrating that some employees are stuck in their way of doing things and aren't really open to new innovative ideas to improve some of the underlying issues in the organization. Although, it was a while back, it would have also been nice to have a mentor to really show me the ropes. I had to figure everything out myself and sometimes it took a while to hear back from those that I was asking for help. All in all, the positives truly outweigh the negatives for me.

We appreciate your note and candor. While generosity is one of our core competencies, we know that at a big organization with nearly over 1,800 employees, we can always do better to work collaboratively and to support one another. We’ve also made some recent changes to our onboarding processes. We hope those changes help our new colleagues feel more plugged in and connected from the start. –- Karl D’Souza

Pros

Learned more about standardized testing’s influence in US education

Cons

As a customer service rep you get to learn a lot, but the hours are very strict and you have 2 set 10 min breaks, and late lunch starting at 2:30 when you first join. That is to be expected in a role like this but personally prefer more flexibility in my schedule. All in all, the job ended up not being a great fit for my interests in education and I left for a different opportunity. What I do have issue with is that HR had no interest in having an exit interview and final off boarding procedures were not clearly communicated. I received an email with a check list, but when I responded to ask clarifying questions I received no response. My “exit interview” meeting was only 3 minutes, where I received a folder with the check list I was already emailed. Since my role relies on a schedule I expected to finish out my shift, but was rushed out once I came back from my meeting with HR. I am very thankful for having the opportunity to be at College Board, but unfortunately having a bad off boarding has left a bad impression. This is not the best place to start your career as a recent graduate.

We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear about your exit experience. This is not the experience we wish for any of our employees to have. Rather, we care about building a culture that’s supportive, inclusive, and inspiring – reflective of the work we do on behalf of students. Pros

I've been at the College Board for almost six months within the IT division. I appreciated the solid on-boarding process, incredible benefits, and positive work environment. As part of my on-boarding process, I had lunch with the CTO and the VP's that lead each division below, as an open forum to get information about the company, its history, and it's current leaders. After the review of strategic planning for the year, I'm excited to be a part of an organization with clearly defined, achievable goals and teams setup for success. Another part I've appreciated, is the actual dedication many in the organization have to the mission of the company. Education is something they really believe in, and it shows.

Cons

The working environment is extremely relaxed, to a fault at times.
