      Great engineering team and work environment

      Pros

      Engineering software for a health care company is very rewarding, and our work impacts many lives on a daily basis. I really enjoy working at Color, for many reasons: - Strong focus on good engineering practices. - Using modern tools and frameworks to enhance quality engineering. - Great communication between departments - Solid business plans and goals that enable a very strong financial outcome. - A great technical team, with smart engineers, designers, and support. - and more!

      Cons

      We have been moving pretty fast, particularly with COVID-19 testing, which has allowed some technical debt to grow. I'd like to get more focus on reducing this overhead. It is important to keep it in-check, and I am sure we will as testing stabilizes.

      Pros

      My coworkers at Color are some of the kindest and most talented people I’ve ever worked with - they make Color a truly amazing place! The engineering team is relatively small, so you have a lot of autonomy and ownership over your projects. I’ve also had the opportunity to work closely with senior engineers, and I’ve learned a ton in my time here. The company is very mission-driven, and it’s rewarding to work on a product that has a real impact on people’s health. I’m really excited for the future, especially the work we are doing for the All of Us research program!

      Cons

      We are building many different things at once, and it feels like the engineering team is stretched too thin at times. Other than that, the only downside is the lack of 401k matching.

      * You have an ability to make an impact right from the get go, and work with people who are extremely mission-driven. * The benefits are great, especially the medical plans. * Super transparent culture, every team keeps the company informed of meeting decisions. * Work/Life balance is amazing.

      Cons

      * Location can be a bit out of the way depending on where you live. * No 401k matching. * Flat Organization Structure (Which can be good or bad depending on what you're looking for specifically)
