Pros

3 weeks vacation, short term disability, medical coverage.

Cons

Lack of Professional Leadership that sets an example to other, always reinventing the wheel to make excuses for people who have no idea or do not want to take care of the basics. No loyalty to hard working employees. All departments always pointing fingers at each other and the Head Man in Charge is incapable of pulling the company together to work in the spirit of cooperation as a unified team that shares each others accomplishments and pitches in to help others succeed.

Thank you for your feedback. In some of our locations where we don't have as significant a presence, we are challenged to provide local career opportunities for talented staff. We do support staff who may have the flexibility to relocate. In addition, part of our strategic plan focuses on looking to build or acquire additional properties within our existing geographic footprint, so that we can leverage our existing infrastructure and do a better job of offering longer term career opportunities.

Pros

The health insurance is above average and pay was good.

Cons

Management was incompetent and devious. There is very little training and no help from upper management. Upper management has no idea on what is going on at their sites. If you ask questions you are ignored in hopes you will give up and go away. Site manager lied and took credit for everything. There is way too much favoritism. No matter your work ethics, knowledge or successful completion of the train wreck workload handed to you, you are still disposable if management decides they do not like you. You have no where to go because HR is not for the employee. If you complain to upper management about your mistreatment or HR, then you just wrote your ticket out. No employee loyalty!!

This year The Community Builders has initiated a formalized on-boarding program where new hires in property management spend their first three days in an orientation program designed to provide them with basic information on the company and their positions. They will be matched up with mentors who can serve as an additional resource as they return to their properties. In addition, we will be launching a supervisor training program this spring to talk about the importance of leadership in the organization and develop skills in this area. This will be rolled out initially at the senior most levels of the company. We are optimistic that these two initiatives will begin to address some of the gaps that may have existed in the past with regard to training and employee development.
